Gracefield Christian Camp and Retreat Centre is celebrating 55 years and hosting a FREE Open Doors event on Saturday, Aug. 19, 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM, including outdoor games, canoeing, BBQ food, special exhibit, and Pow-Wow demonstrations of First Nations culture.

  • Canteen refreshments + souvenir t-shirts available for purchase throughout the day.
  • Members of the Kitigan Zibi First Nations will be on site throughout the day showcasing local Algonquin culture.
  • Experience a Pow-Wow demonstration, sample traditional Algonquin foods, and participate in cultural workshops.
  • Tour a unique exhibit by the City of Ottawa created especially for the event and experience fun history-based activities about the origins of Gracefield Camp and the purchase of property from the Billings family.
  • Located on the shores of Lac du Castor Blanc in Gracefield, Quebec, the 280 acres of camp property serve as a summer camp for youth and families, a tent and trailer loop for short and long-term campers, and a year-round retreat for guests. The camp was purchased in 1962 from the Billings, one of Ottawa’s founding families. GCCRC has been welcoming guests and campers to its stunning location for 55 years, since 1962.
