Bytown Voices Community Choir:

Spring concert: Home-Songs of land, belonging and connection
Sunday, April 28 at 3 pm in the Knox Presbyterian Church Sanctuary.

"Home sweet home" are words we utter after a long absence. But what is home? Is it a place, land, and people? Join the Bytown Voices for a journey exploring home through songs that echo a mother's voice, connection to land, the hardship of separation, and the joys of connection.

Bytown Voices is proud to feature music by creators from the Ottawa region: the premiere of "Home to Africville" by Lyndsay Bolden and "She is the Woman Who Sang Me the Birds" with music by Beverley McKiver and words by Ottawa poet Wendy Duschenes, who grew up in Westfield, New Brunswick. Lyndsay Bolden is African-American and calls Canada home. Beverley McKiver is a member of the Lac Seul First Nation (Anishinaabe).

Joining the choir for this concert are instrumentalists Keith Hartshorn-Walton on bass, Anthony Bacon on banjo and Erik Johnson-Scherger on violin.

If you are interested in attending the concert, tickets can be purchased on the Bytown Voices
website HERE or at the door on concert day.
