With citizens across Canada this weekend, we recognize Thanksgiving Day and our Sunday Worship Service will include hymns, songs, readings and poetry based upon the theme of gratitude. Though not a religious holy-day, the annual occasion of Thanksgiving Day offers wonderful opportunity to express gratitude toward God. Sunday's sermon, Gratitude Can Make Your Life Rich, will be based on readings from Proverbs 15:13-16 and First Thessalonians 5:16-18. Upon entry into the sanctuary, everyone will be given a 'thanksgiving leaf' and will be invited to write one or two items of thanksgiving. During our offertory time, everyone will be invited to pin their leaf onto a 'thanksgiving tree'. In advance of Sunday, consider the sources of gratitude in your life!
