The Ottawa Pastoral Care Training Program (OPCTP) is an inter-denominational program offering courses and seminars  individuals and faith groups wanting to grow in knowledge and practical experience in areas of caring and compassion. 

Starting on Monday, March 20th, the OPCTP will run their 9-week Basic Course through to May 15th.  Topics for individual sessions include: 

  • Introduction to Pastoral Care
  • Active Listening
  • Spiritual Needs and Pastoral Identity
  • Ministry With the Dying
  • Grief Through Losses
  • Visiting in Hospitals, Institutions, Homes
  • The Transitioning Years
  • Care for the Caregiver and Pastoral Care Teams
  • Celebrating Our Community and Our Call

Course options include either in-person sessions on Monday afternoons from 1pm to 3:15 pm at St. Paul's Presbyerian Church (971 Woodroffe Avenue) or an online ZOOM class on Monday evenings from 7pm to 9pm.
