Scaffolding that filled the Knox gardens for six weeks has come down. Although passers-by might not notice the changes to the building, the buttresses and both north and south walls of the tower have been repaired. Stones that were crumbling have been replaced, and loose mortar joints repaired. Now the building is better protected from rain and water from melting snow, and the stonework is solid. You will need to look carefully to see just where the new stones have been placed, and the appearance is actually better than before.
