This weekend is the First Sunday of Advent and our worship theme is ‘Waiting With Hope’ including Bible readings from 1 Samuel 1:1-20 and Luke 1:5-20, two stories of people who deeply understood the experience of patience and longing for better days. We welcome Susan Toman as our guest lead musician (organ/harp), accompanied by Murat Mulyukov (oboe).
We will also celebrate the sacrament of Communion, doing so with a walk-up format. People joining us online are encouraged to participate by preparing their own bread or crackers, and juice, wine or water.
The Knox Choir will also lead our singing, and for the first time since March 2020, will enter the sanctuary during an opening Processional Hymn down the centre aisle. Though the choir will be wearing masks, anyone feeling vulnerable or uncomfortable is asked to be seated away from centre aisle.
If joining on-line, the livestream begins @ 10:20 a.m HERE. Worship services are also archived on our YouTube Channel (Knox Ottawa) and on our website (HERE). A copy of the liturgy can be found at the end of this newsletter. If attending worship in-person, Knox Health and Safety Practices can be found HERE.
