Knox participates in Doors Open Ottawa, which has brought as many as 450 people into Knox on the first weekend in June. Many are our neighbours who have always been curious about what was inside the beautiful church they walked by every day. We need greeters (who say hello to people in the Narthex where information is available, and keep track of numbers) and guides. Guides give a brief description of part of the church—the sanctuary, the great east window, and the west window in the balcony. Lots of material is available to read up on about the church. Pamphlets are available for visitors. Greg Fyffe is there all weekend if you want to pass a question on to him.
This year Doors Open is Saturday June 3 (10:00 am to 4:00) and Sunday June 4 (12:30 to 4:00). There are four shifts on Saturday and two on Sunday and we need a few more people for both days. Doors Open Ottawa is hybrid for the second year in a row, and our video on Knox Church will be available through Doors Open Ottawa, as well as on the church website. Following this year’s Doors Open Ottawa theme, “food,” a free café will be open in Geneva Hall, and there will be information there on Knox’s Out of the Cold/Neighbours in Need Program. Pastor Pot will be at Knox on the Saturday for Doors Open.
